The following videos consist of parts four and five of the Congressional Subcommittee hearing into Durable Medical Equipment bidding practices. Parts four and five of the series involve a question and answer session between Rural Development, Entrepreneurship and Trade Subcommittee Chairman Heath Shuler (D-NC) and expert witness Mr. Laurence D. Wilson regarding the pros and cons of competitive bidding practices for small-business Durable Medical Equipment suppliers.
For several years now, the American Government has shown a rare bipartisan willingness to work together when it comes to reshaping Medicare competitive bidding practices so as to avoid unfairly punishing small business DME suppliers who may be more qualified to receive a contract and better able to provide quality products, training, education and services to America's seasoned citizens than would a large corporation that underbids but provides an inferior quality of goods and/or services.
